Relive is a platform for creating and sharing 3D videos of outdoor activities. I’ve worked with their team on design and development projects, focusing on user experience and interface design.
During my time working at Relive, my first project involved the Communities team where I was responsible for implementing a variety of social features including the ability to reply to comments, add images to posts, and mention other users.
By implementing this new feature, Relive was able to engage users on a whole new level, encouraging interaction beyond just sharing activity updates. Users were now able to connect with like-minded individuals, share tips and advice, and even plan meet-ups or group activities. This sense of community fostered a stronger sense of loyalty among users, ultimately leading to increased engagement and retention rates. The mapping feature also allowed users to discover new routes and explore different areas, adding an exciting element to their fitness journeys. Overall, the shift towards community-building and route mapping proved to be a game-changer for Relive, solidifying its position as a leading platform in the fitness tracking industry.
I collaborated closely with both the design and engineering teams to successfully implement the addition of routes to the Relive app. This new feature transformed the app from solely a tracking tool for activities to also serving as a versatile map tool for users. Through open communication, problem-solving, and a shared vision, we were able to seamlessly integrate this functionality into the app, ultimately enhancing the overall user experience.
With the addition of routes and communities to the app, Relive users began to experience notification overload for the first time. In order to address this issue, I implemented a simple Activity Center within the app where all notifications are consolidated and can be accessed at any time. This was a significant improvement compared to system notifications, which would disappear once marked as read. To ensure the effectiveness of this new feature, I conducted A/B testing on several iterations of the design in a live production environment, allowing me to gather valuable user experience insights.
